No matter your strength and flexibility, improving the poses will ease the strain on your body. Sun salutations are the stalwart of most yoga practices. Yet despite their popularity, there are some tricky parts in the vinyasa (a sequential series of yoga poses) that can be problematic for even experienced yogis. Performed correctly, the sun salutation flows seamlessly through all of its poses. But for those who lack the requisite strength and flexibility, the sequence can look strained and out of sync. And while you don't need the flexibility of Gumby and the strength of Arnold to do it, there are some tricks to perfecting your technique and easing the strain on your body.
