Biggest Loser Contestants Share Weight Loss Secrets


Two of the most successful losers in the NBC show "The Biggest Loser" have written a book. Phil and Amy Parham of Greer authored The "The 90 Day Fitness Challenge." The couple signed copies Wednesday at the Barnes and Noble on Woodruff Road.
"We were so fresh off the experience and everything was so real. We knew as heavy, obese people what the feelings were like," Phil said. The Parhams were contestants on season six from May 2008 to December 2008. During the seven month period they lost a combined 256 pounds, that is the highest percentage of weight loss of any couple in the program's history. "I was 40-years-old when I went on the show," Amy said. "Sometimes when you are 40 you think this is the way my life is going to be set, not like when you are 20 and your whole life is ahead of you. What a difference two years makes. Dreams I never imagined have come true," she said. The Parhams have kept 90 percent of the weight off. At their thinnest Phil was 180 pounds, Amy 124 pounds.
